Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s upcoming Bali outpost, has appointed its General Manager in the months leading to its opening. The international brand of casual Italian restaurants chose to go local, engaging Balinese hospitality veteran Made Sukadana for this important role.
Made Sukadana, affectionately known to his peers and staff members as Suk, has been working in the hotel and food and beverage line for 26 years. He spent 20 years with the renowned Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, working in properties from Bali to Hawaii. Here he developed an exceedingly strong passion for service, with an unfailing focus on guest satisfaction. Suk was also the General Manager at the multi award-winning Mozaic Restaurant in Ubud and was the Hotel Manager of boutique property L Hotel Seminyak.
Even with this unparalleled wealth of experience, Suk is extremely down to earth. He believes that one can only lead through example, and is known as a hard worker and a great team player. He is the perfect individual to embody the Jamie’s Italian ethos and to lead the team in providing warm, personable service and ensuring that good food made from scratch is accessible for everyone.
In preparation for his role, Suk has gone through long and rigorous hands-on training in Jamie’s Italian restaurants in London, UK, to immerse him in the brand culture and learn about its operations. He comments on his appointment, ‘Jamie’s Italian is such an amazing international brand, and it is really exciting to be leading them in their first entry into Indonesia. I’m very happy to join the Jamie’s Italian family, and am certainly looking forward to meeting the team and inspiring them.”
